Microsoft Office 2013: Saving as a PDF or XPS

How to use the built in feature to save Office Word and Excel documents as a .pdf or .xps file.
The ability to save as a pdf is built in to Office 2013, so there is no need to download additional add-ons.
  1. Click on the File tab
  2. Go to "Export"
  3. Select "Create PDF/XPS Document" then "Create PDF/XPS"
  4. Make sure the "Save as type" is PDF

That's all you need to do. If "Open file after publishing" is checked, your new PDF should open automatically so you can view it.
